Up Close and Personal with Carrie Weston
Introduction
Hello Book Lovers,
Time once again for #MeetTheAuthorMonday or whatever day it happens to be right now, time is whizzing by so I am sharing these blog posts whenever I get a spare moment.
Today we will get ‘up close and personal’ with the multi genre author Carrie Weston who writes anything from romance to dark fantasy including the forthcoming spicy paranormal romance; 'Strawberry Moon'.
Carrie will be joining us for The Lyde Court Book Fayre HR1 3AE on Saturday 23rd May 2026.
We sent Carrie a selection of questions not necessarily to do with her books but just to get to know her a little better. So, without further ado, here are the questions Caroline chose to complete:
Childhood
As a child, what did you want to do when you grew up?
I have always wanted to be a writer, even at a very young age. I much prefer the idea of fantasies to reality, like a modern-day female Peter Pan lol. Even as a child I would climb the biggest rock outside of my house and jump off it as high as I could, convinced there was a portal to another world there that I could explore, if only I could reach it.
Fantasy
If you were a mythical creature from folklore or fairytale, what would you be and why?
If I were to become a mythical creature, as most of you know, I would choose to be a unicorn. They are pure of heart, beautiful and they have the magic to change the world. I remember as a young child I read one of the original stories of the unicorn meadow and the girl who sat and sang to the unicorns. That memory, the picture of peace and tranquillity has never left me. From those memories and at the request of my son sprung the birth of my first trilogy; Xander Chase.
Work/Writing
Do you hear from your readers much, and what kind of things do they say?
I love hearing from my readers and little fan group. I write stories from my heart, for my readers and I want them to enjoy them as much as I do so creative feedback is always welcome. I have requests such as having fans as characters and the latest request is for a werewolf book which I have gladly created. Strawberry Moon and is up for pre-order now. I have also been gifted drawings of characters and even a little model.
Relaxation
What is your favourite season? What do you look forward to doing most of all during this season?
My favourite season has to be Winter even though I hate the cold it’s the only time of the year the whole family gets together to play board games and chat. People are happier because it encompasses Christmas and there are fairy lights, trees and singing it’s like for that one month of winter the country is turned into a fantasy world. Not to mention snow! And snow means making snow men, what’s better?
Personal
What is something that you cannot live without?
Realistically I couldn’t live without a lot of things lol. But above those, I love spending time with my family, creating new stories and conducting research on my laptop and talking with friends over the internet.
