ENDED Easter Storytime & Workshops Hereford 17th & 24th April 2025

Published on 25 May 2025 at 00:45

It was so exciting to be part of the wonderful Easter Storytime Event at Maylord Orchards Shopping Centre in Hereford.

How wonderful to have local authors join us and give their time freely. The events started at 10:30am with drop in colouring & crafting sessions. Then on each hour starting from 11am there was to storytime sessions and mini workshops following.

Author & Photographer Tracy May Lee  started us off with her heartfelt tale 'Ntombi: A Rhino's Story' a baby rhino.

Charlotte L Taylor of Toadstool Tales joined us and gave a reading from her children's picture book 'Time for Bed Sleepyhead!'  It was nice to see how engaged the children were especially the tiny baby. Like Charlotte said it shows us how important it is reading to kids.

Thank you for dropping by Charlotte the children clearly had so much fun creating their own sun's in your little workshop.

RG Marshall also joined us with his fantasy book series for older readers Check out Book 1 'The Curse of the Dragon's Coin: Tales of the Otherworld'

I helped children created their own bookmarks and shared my story of Bartholomew Drake.

Watch this space as we are hoping to do more Storytime sessions through the school summer holidays in and around Hereford.

Thank you for stopping by

Meet Charlotte L. Taylor

'Time for Bed Sleepyhead!'

Recommended for children 3 - 7 years

When it’s time for the sun to go to bed, he’s having too much fun. So, deciding to stay awake, he looks for others to play with. However, what he discovers instead makes him realise he might be better off going to sleep after all!

Perfect for little ones who refuse to settle down at night, this fun, rhyming story teaches children why it is important for them to get their sleep ... just the answer for exhausted grown-ups everywhere!

'Broken Twigs: Farewell to Faerie Forest'

Recommended for children 8 - 11 years

Farewell to Faerie Forest introduces a magical world where diligent fairies perform their duties so that the faerie realm has everything it needs each season. Queen Iris rules with kind benevolence over the hard-working fairies, with all doing their fair share of work ‒ all, that is, except Twigs. Stubborn and temperamental, Twigs hates working. As soon as the fairies begin their daily chores, Twigs disappears and spends her days getting into mischief. It’s clear why she has no friends, nor does she want any.

Into this world on a summer’s day comes chaos and a disturbing malevolence. Twigs makes a terrible misjudgement and endangers the other fairies and their home. Everything she takes for granted is stripped from her, and she finds herself far from Faerie Forest, alone, and in danger. All she wants is to return home, but evil, a dark secret from her past, and her own mistakes stand in her way.
